Title Design Blog: What way can we make these two stand out compared to everyone else?

Image
Hello, today everyone.Titles are everything, especially in movies. It’s how you recognize one after all! When deciding what the title should be there are many things we can go with. It’s a movie about never having a free day with your friend and when you do it’s a zombie apocalypse! Er kinda they’re just zombies around. Kinda like during COVID when everyone had to stay inside. We haven’t talked to it much so far but I, personally, have just be calling it Zombie Vacation or Free Zombie Day. We mostly want to wait until we get more of it done before we do a title. Other titles are would include the workers in the beginning. We wanted those ones to contrast the background, which i wanted to be light so I’ve decided it should be black, or a light brown to look nicer. For the size, it will mostly just depend on the scene, where is the title going to be is going to determine the size of the title. Me and my teammate were deciding between 3 different fonts but ultimately chose Carbon. They’ll

Me and my teammate both have open schedules most days. Allowing us to meet up easily. The only problems would be my swimming practice or meets and even on those days I can most likely meet up. The only issue would be in February when I have a swim meet out of the country. This is the only inconvenience on my schedule really during January and February. Although me and my partner can end up falling ill, this is not an issue due to the recordings being in separate locations most of the time. Meaning that I can record without them around and they can as well. There is only one true scene where me and my teammate need to meet up and it can most likely be scheduled halfway through. If any issues do appear my teammate and I can then discuss what to do next. Most of the scenes are done in easy to find areas there is no real problem filming without the other teammate except due to the fact the recordings may look different. But taking this fact in, me and my teammate hope to record mostly tog

Franky Dialogue: You wouldn't believe why I'm not there if I told you. Lucia Dialogue: Try me. Franky Dialogue: We were on the road and a motorcycle raced by. But they must have not been paying attention because they switched right in front of a moving truck. The truck tried to not hit them and turned into the side of the street. Now it's turned over and we can't leave due to backed up traffic. Lucia Dialogue: You know what *sigh*.  Haunted Mansion (2023) movie is probably the perfect in-between I could find of horror and comedy; it was funny but got creepy at certain points. The movie starts with narration and many establishing shots of the setting of the movie, New Orleans. Most of the dialogue are shot in over the shoulder shots or shot reverse shots. The movies partial to long shots, medium close ups, two shots and three shots. Also, there are tracking shots at some points to enhance the humor. Whenever we see out main character, Ben, we often see him at a slight low angle, to show his depression after losing his wife, getting lower than it gets worse. There are slight inserts of flashbacks, of Ben's past. Travis and Gabbie are both wearing clothing you'd expect is more 50's, while Ben's is more modern, Harriet wears things that can only be described as physic and "old-timey" whereas Father Kent wears a butchered priest-father outfit, and finally Bruce is a scientist and as such dres

Yes Scooby-Doo (2002) is a horror movie! I'm shocked too! The other two are more horror than comedy so I wanted one of my research blogs to be a comedy focused horror. Scooby-doo uses lots of tracking shots, POV shots, has most of the shots at low angles, and whenever people are exchanging dialogue there is an over the shoulder shot used. You can hear ambient sound in any scene someone's in, and there is ALWAYS non-diegetic sound in the background, music, laughing, clicking of a sound, anything. Scooby doo uses a lot of the expectations set with the cartoon movies, Velma's' glasses, Daphne being a damsel in distress and uses them all to deceive us. The costumes are very 2000s, or set in the period, but however everyone apart from the main 4 is very dull or pastel. Whereas the main 4, Velma, Daphne, Fred and Shaggy are a lot more vibrant, a way to tell them apart from everyone else. Most of the movie takes place on "Spooky Island" with the ending happening a

The movie Scream is really self-aware, so a lot of the "convections" it follows it says in the movies. It has medium close ups, extreme close ups, cross cutting and show reverse shots the most often. Of course, a long shot when the killer is revealed. The shots are usually tracking shots of Ghost face (the killer) causing the angles to be either low angles or Dutch angles (with head tilts). Pan movements are also very common. Scream uses a lot of different shots at least one for scares. Dialogue is exchanged between every character in the movie, there was a motif for every time the Ghost face popped up, ambient sound is common during party and school scenes and there is very little non-diegetic sounds. Ghost face is in a whole black robe with a white mask, while every teenager is in something appropriate for the late 90s. However, the main character, Sidney, is shown to wear a lot more covering stuff then her friend Tatum, as a reference to popular horror movie trope. The mai

Good morning or good evening. In the end my group has chosen to do comedy with slight horror! Well comedy-horror and also campy, wanting it to be fun! You may just have a laugh at the end! It is also the genre me and my teammate believed we could have the most fun with. When discussing what we wanted to do the first day, we both agreed it should be funny and that we should have a good time with it. We also wanted to make it slightly creepy though, so we also made it horror because the pitch we choose we can do so much.  Zombies maybe? Vampires? You'll just have to wait to find out! I can promise that you're going to enjoy this one, with a twist you won't even expect. This is something me and my teammate believed together can be pulled off perfectly.

Thriller defined by the internet: "fiction with numerous, often overlapping, subgenres, including crime, horror, and detective fiction."  Common camera: angles, movements, and shots:  Extreme close ups and close ups are the bread and butter of this genre, pans, establishing shots and long shots are also used very frequently. This is to show tension or suspense. Take advantage of high shots and POV shots to make it since as though someone's stalking the main character is also commonplace to enhance the viewer. Dutch angles are used to make the viewer uneasy OFTEN. Low level framing is used to show who's in power and who's powerless.  Common mise-en-scenes: There's a darker and grittier atmosphere. It's also often in more urban and rural settings, or a mansion, for all the rooms to play with. It takes advantage of dramatic lighting, like hiding someone in shadow and casting the other in complete light. Props often include guns or knives for a wow factor. Ma

Comedy defined by the internet: "'make 'em laugh' films designed to elicit laughter from the audience."  Common camera: angles, movements, and shots:  I'm going to be honest; you can do almost anything in the comedy genre if it fits a joke. Jumpcut for an ironic scene, shot reverse shot for a facial expression, birds eye view for some spy joke. If you can make a joke out of it, you can use it.  Common mise-en-scenes: Comedies tend to have brighter settings and likely take place in more popular settings. Costumes, make up and props can often be exaggerated or completely out of place for a joke. Lighting is exaggerated for a joke unless it's a deadpan to let the audience laugh or be the punchline. Actor's often having to have natural charisma (easy to bring in audience right) or have a gimmick to laugh at them for.  Common editing techniques: Like the common camera movements, if it's for a joke, you can use anything. Editing techniques are used a pu

Drama genre defined by the internet: "A narrative fiction (or semi-fiction) intended to be more serious than humorous in tone" Common camera: angles, movements, and shots:      Common shots and angles used in drama movies are close up, used to emphasize; a long shot (sometimes referred to as a wide shot) shows the action or setting of a scene; birds eye view, used to imply meaning; over the shoulder to make the impact of a scene feel like a gut punch; medium shots to show intention and to emphasize body language and extreme close ups to add tension. My examples for what is shot/angle does it just the usual for what it is, it can also be used to do other things, these are like the... stereotypes.   Common mise-en-scenes:     Setting and atmosphere tend to be gritty, grey/cool and dark when it's a more serious movie, a lot more natural. When it's more camp (or over the top) it has a lot of brighter colors and it's vibrant. Dramas stick to the themes, clothing and p

Our Pitch: How will everything change if they find out I'm human?

Pitch A: Two friends keep trying to make plans, but everything gets in the way.  Pitch B: Character (A) takes the sentence "taking candy from a baby" literally but Character (B) keeps trying to stop them.  Discuss Pitch A: Me and my partner had an idea about two friends. Similar to us when our group did the music video. My group had trouble aligning schedules. So, it took very long for us to finally get the work going. This idea came off it because almost everything was getting in the way during that project.    Discuss Pitch B: Ok, let me straight with you. Me and my partner love candy, and so taking that idea. With the literal fact of taking "candy from a baby" just bounced off. Also, my partner thinks it's funny if someone stole candy from a child. Me and my partner also wanted foil characters like some of our friends, so character (B) was added. Final Decision: In the end me and my partner went with, Pitch A: Two friends keep trying to make plans, but every

Hello again, buddies! With the Final Task coming up you're probably wondering who I'm working with. I will be working in a duo this time around with Alexandra Soto. I also believe I'll be able to work with her very well. They're my friends and greatly efficient. As well as us being in class together allowing us to work better and faster with the time given. Sharing the same class with them allows quicker understanding as the situations update. Making things move faster and more smoothly due to sharing the same period. I also share contacts with her making it easier for me to understand if something happens. These ways I can bring up new ideas to help lengthen and contribute to the video. This is just starting off and soon ideas will be coming fast. My partner also agreed that it would be a good idea for us to just work in a duo this time. With her directing skills and my acting nothing could go wrong. I'm thinking of a concept for this Final Task. It's going t

I enjoy the sun and the moon, but really the moon more since it's refreshing. My favorite color is blue, but I enjoy going into depth that it's Airforce or Egyptian Blue. I've been on a swim team more than half of my life. I like sports, and video games. I dislike bullies and people that harass others for no reason. I'm an ambivert, siding to extrovert but not fully. I enjoy writing and drawing; I also enjoy watching anime as well. I've taken many different classes that most wouldn't, and one was Digital Art. This way when I draw, I can show it to others in different ways. Animation is a hobby I have, although I've only done two so far. My favorite animal would be either a fox, cat or has to be a viper. Especially the Bush Viper, it's one of the most poisonous animals in the world but in my opinion it's adorable. If we're talking about mystical creatures, then mine has to be a dragon or wyvern. Their similar but not, wyverns only have 2 legs and
